Balance Music Pads

Something that I admire about music is that it's a medium that connects people. Music functions as a universal language. This work goes about the connection with yourself and with others. I've made several music pads with different sounds. You are allowed to touch it and then it will react in music. The object is actually too big to use all of the different parts. So it's possible to use it with more than one person. The shape that I created stands as a symbol for balance. The open places with lots of colors behind the plexiglass are representing the bright lightness parts in life. They look bright but feel hard. The other parts full with body mass that you can touch are the other way around.
