About

Juliën Vrinds Renou

Artist and product designer based in Utrecht. Makes things that blur the line between digital and physical.

The Work

I'm obsessed with making the ordinary extraordinary — taking everyday objects like peppers, lemons, and old cars, and rendering them with the detail and attention usually reserved for fine art. The chili pepper became my signature, but the obsession extends to anything I can stare at long enough.

My practice moves between the screen and the workshop. I paint digitally with vector precision, then bring those same forms into the physical world as large-scale cardboard cutouts, neon-lit installations, and immersive gallery pieces. The tension between the handmade and the pixel-perfect is where the work lives.

Products

Objects & Sculpture

Each piece starts as a study — an object so familiar it becomes invisible. Peppers, fish, faces, vehicles. By isolating them, layering colour and cutting form from MDF, they become something else entirely: part icon, part portrait, part obsession. All products are available and commissions are welcome.

Installations

Space & Experience

Site-specific works made for a particular space, light, or moment. From interactive music pads and window film to wire sculpture and neon — each installation is built around the idea of statisch ongedwongen: static yet free, present yet open. Made in response to the place it inhabits.
